How do we do it?
FITA provides the very practical and vocational training that companies need and
want.
We are an SQA Approved Centre for the delivery of Scottish Vocational
Qualifications including SVQ Assessor training and Internal Verification
services. FITA offers a wide range of learning styles, taught courses, open
learning, supported workshops, in-house courses or nationally accredited
certified courses. Exciting equipment is used for some training and
demonstrations; we provide all the learning resources and materials. We almost
always go to the client workplace at their convenient time, but if it is more
suitable we use a local venue. We provide a peripatetic service for the small
business.
FITA forms working partnerships for better efficiency. We work closely with
Seafish Technology and Training, using many of their certified courses and
materials. We shall work with Improve staff to develop and deliver different
kinds of qualifications to meet business needs and provide a vocational training
route for employees.
FITA offers technical help and advice, for example on HACCPs plans, waste
management.
FITA carries out research on business needs and the labour market as requested.
How are we funded?
The Association receives grant support from the Sea Fish Industry Authority and
generates additional income to cover its costs by delivering training and
managing EU and Government funded training programmes. FITA makes modest charges
for training and qualifications but will offer grants, or funding advice.
What area do we cover?
We cover the Highland mainland, Argyll and Bute and the Inner Isles. Courses can
be arranged in work places, local locations, we come to you whenever possible.
Please contact Lachie or Sally if you want a course arranged.
