We offer skills, training ‘Needs Solutions’ and qualifications to all sizes of fishery business involved with caught or farmed fish, shellfish, aquaculture, fish processing, wholesaling, retailing and fish & chips shops.
FITA provides impartial advice on training-related matters; training materials and resources; training courses and qualifications particularly for catching and processing of any farmed or sea-caught fish or shellfish. We offer specialist technical advice and help, (for example hygiene pre-requisites, HACCPs), technical reports, tailored resources, flexibility of time and place, and cost effective options.
The Workforce Development Project includes added benefits to encourage training: promoting Lifelong Learning and personal development plans (with vocational career routes) to all employees, work-life balance initiatives, and workplace communications improvements. These are designed to help business to meet targets and improve performance, as well as improving the welfare and ethos of food-sector workers.
FITA is constantly seeking to expand our range of services to meet rapidly changing business needs, so this plan is reviewed and updated during the year.
